BBC’s deputy DG made redundant

British public broadcaster the BBC has made deputy director general Mark Byford redundant. Byford, who has worked at the corporation since 1979, is expected to leave next summer. From a summer holiday job to head of all the BBC’s journalism – I have been fortunate and blessed to have had such a wonderful career at the BBC,” he noted in a memo to BBC staff.
