TF1’s Odyssée to become Stylia

TF1-owned French documentary channel Odyssée is being rebranded as Stylia and dedicated to lifestyle from October 1.

TF1 plans to rebrand the channel as a female-oriented service focusing on luxury lifestyle, fashion and design. However, managing director Didier Sapaut said the channel would also appeal to men. Odyssée recorded revenues of €4.8m and a profit of €14,000 in 2009.

Separately, TF1, faced with the threat of non-renewal of its exclusive contract with pay-TV operator CanalSat for the carriage of information channel LCI, has begun talks with other operators including Orange, according to local press. The channel could seek carriage with both Orange and the Canal Plus bouquet.
