CNBC appoints digital director

Business and financial news channel CNBC has appointed Torsten de Riese as digital director, EMEA.

In this new role, de Riese will be responsible for leading syndication deals online and on mobile, and developing and monetising CNBC products. He will also help to develop CNBC’s broader digital strategy in EMEA to increase the channel’s reach.

De Riese joins CNBC from Guardian News & Media where he was most recently leading the Guardian’s mobile programme as mobile business manager.
