ITV appoints its first CTO

ITV has created a new position of chief technology officer and appointed former Sky and BBC exec Paul Dale to the role.

ITV chief exec Adam Crozier said it had created the role to catch up with it its competitors in terms of technology. “ITV has lagged behind it competitors for too long in terms of technology. Paul’s arrival signals a commitment to completely reshape our digital future,” he said.

Dale will lead the newly formed technology and platforms directorate and will be responsible for transmission, broadcast services and placing ITV content on to various devices.
He joins from Asian pay-TV operator Astro where he was head of technology.
