Antenna confirms interest in UK’s Five

Greek broadcaster Antenna has confirmed its interest in acquiring UK commercial broadcaster Five from RTL Group.

The Greek network confirmed that it was one of the companies that have submitted a preliminary, non-binding offer for the free-to-air network. It has joined a consortium with Endemol founder and current Talpa Media boss John de Mol, through his Cyrte Investment fund.

“Antenna has expressed an interest in the potential sale of Five by RTL and has joined forces with Dutch media businessman John de Mol in submitting a non-binding preliminary bid. We are now in the process of conducting due diligence with binding offers due by next week,” it noted.
