Conseil dÂEtat asks Canal Plus to look again at channel listings
FranceÂs Conseil dÂEtat has asked Canal Plus to look again at the position occupied by information channel BFM TV on its EPG.
At the end of last year, media regulator the CSA said that Canal PlusÂs treatment of BFM TV and NRJ 12 was discriminatory and gave the pay-TV provider two months to change the postion of the services on its listing, however, Canal Plus obtained a provisional suspension of this ruling from the Conseil dÂEtat.
BFM TV, currently occupying channel 54, has demanded to be moved up to number 15, while 36th-placed NRJ 12 wanted to be moved up to number 12. The Conseil dÂEtat has stopped short of accepting these demands.
BFM TV has said it wants to obtain a number adjacent to rivals i>Tele and LCI (currently on channels 50 and 51 respectively) if its demand to be moved to number 15 fails. NRJ 12 would like to be listed amongst Âgeneralist channels if its own attempt to move up the listings fails.
