France’s super-fast broadband base growth led by cable

France had 20.055 million broadband customers at the end of the first quarter, up from 19.686 million in December, according to the latest figures from telecom regulator ARCEP.

The figures included 330,000 very high-speed subscribers, including 75,000 FTTH subscribers (up by 5,000) and 255,000 others – mostly cable (up by 35,000).

Of France’s remaining 19.725 million broadband customers, 18.81 million were connected via ADSL and 915,000 by other means (again, mostly cable).
