South Africa’s e.tv emerges as “sole bidder” for mobile TV licence

Commercial broadcaster e.tv is the only contender for South Africa’s first mobile TV licence, according to local press.

The South African Sunday Times website reported that the regulator, ICASA, had decided to disqualify bids by the Mobile TV Consortium, backed by pay-TV operator MultiChoice, which allegedly submitted its prosposal after the official deadline, and Super 5 Delta, which it said had failed to submit the stipulated number of bound copies of application.
