Mediaset to raise €300m loan

Mediaset is to issue a €300m unrated bonded loan on the Eurobond market before the end of next year.

The company said the loan, which will be limited to qualified investors and will be its first entry on the Eurobond market, would make it possible to extend the average expiry dates of its debts.

The announcement follows press reports that Mediaset is preparing to acquire a 20% stake in Prisa-owned Spanish pay-TV operator Digital Plus and an 80% stake in free-to-air channel Cuatro for €400m.
