Cyfra Plus survey reveals DVR and VOD appeal
A growing number of Polish TV viewers want to be able to choose when to watch TV programmes, according to a survey commissioned by pay-TV operator Canal Plus Cyfrowy.
Just over 28% of respondents to the PBS DGA survey said watching TV programmes at a time of their choosing was important, while 24.8% said being able to pause what they were watching was also important. Nearly 44% said avoiding ads was the most appealing reason for using video-on-demand and DVR services.
Nearly 22% of respondents said that VOD was attractive because it meant they only had to pay for the content they wanted to watch, while 18.6% believed the main advantage of DVR services is the ability to record one programme whilst watching another.
When asked what they believed to be the most important TV services, 37% of respondents chose HD quality programmes with Surround Sound, while 25% said being able to choose between dubbing and subtitles was important.
