ARCEP lists fibre ‘mutualisation’ beneficiaries

French telecom regulator ARCEP has published a list of service providers that must be informed when one of their number secures an agreement allowing it to install fibre in apartment buildings.

Under a law passed in August 2008, operators installing fibre in buildings are subject to the principle of ‘mutualisation’, allowing other operators to provide fibre services over the network on a non-discriminatory basis. The operators named by ARCEP yesterday are Free, SFR, France Télécom, Numéricable, Sequalum and Covage.

Other operators that wish to be included must inform ARCEP.
