Italy’s National Consumer Council criticises Rai move

The president of Italy’s National Consumer Council (NCC) has criticised broadcaster Rai’s decision to remove certain channels from incumbent pay-TV operator Sky Italia’s platform.

Rai decided to pull its thematic channels from Sky Italia, meaning they are now available on the country’s DTT platform and new free-to-air satellite service TivùSat. Luca Borgemo, president of the NCC said the move will lead to confusion amongst customers who might also have to spend money on new decoders.
