Telekom Austria’s fixed net business impacts revenues

Telekom Austria blamed “disrupting regulatory measures and the overall tense economic situation” for second quarter revenues of €1.2bn, down 6.6% year-on-year. EBITDA was also down 3.9% to €450m.

The operator said the declines were driven primarily by its fixed net segment, which contributed revenues of €456.9m, down €65m or 11.2% year-on-year. Of that, €240.4m came from the access, voice and broadband unit, down 13% year-on-year. Telekom Austria added 22,700 net broadband subscribers during the quarter, compared with 49,900 the previous quarter and 8,900 a year earlier.
