Youssif named CEO of YahLive

SES Astra and Yahsat have appointed Mohamed Youssif as CEO of YahLive, a recent joint venture between the satellite operators to offer DTH television capacity and services to countries in the Middle East, North Africa and southwest Asia.

Under the YahLive brand, the new company will own and commercialise 23 BSS-transponders on the Yahsat 1A satellite, to be positioned at the 52.5º East orbital position and operating in the Ku-band frequency. The satellite is scheduled to be launched by the fourth quarter of 2010.

Youssif joins from Arabsat, where he was chief commercial officer.
