ProSieben appoints acquisition and development SVP

German broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1 has appointed Michael Schmidt as senior-vice president group format acquisitions and development.

Schmidt will manage international format acquisitions and coordinate the group’s creative operations and development pipeline. He joined ProSiebenSat.1 in 2005, initially serving as department head for format development and comedy at ProSieben before being promoted to deputy head of entertainment of ProSieben in 2006. In May 2008, he assumed responsibility for coordination of the entertainment programming areas within German Free TV Holding as senior-vice president entertainment.

Meanwhile, Daniela Matei is to step down from her role as senior vice-president production and development. She was responsible for international programme planning and development of multinational TV productions.
