Italian regulator studying Rai’s Tivù Sat move

Italian communications regulator Agcom is investigating whether the decision of public broadcaster Rai to pull out of Sky Italia’s platform and make its services available on new free-to-air satellite platform Tivù Sat is in breach of its platform-neutrality obligations.

Tivù Sat, a joint-venture between Rai, Mediaset and Telecom Italia, is set to launch at the end of this month, with encryption provided by Nagravision.
