Molotov signs smart TV deal with LG
Molotov, the new French OTT service from former Canal+ boss Pierre Lescure, has signed a deal with LG that will make it available on LG Smart TVs.
Users will be able to access the service via the LG webOS 2.0 platform from the beginning of 2016, with Molotov promising a “new, connected and fully customisable way to watch television”.
Molotov offers users live TV access and a “catch-up” service from any device, and lets users bookmark and discover programmes.
“Our partnership with LG is a significant step forward in achieving the vision of Molotov. Our goal is to reinvigorate the television viewer’s experience through distribution to connected devices,” said Molotov co-founder JeanDavid Blanc.
Molotov was first launched in June and will initially be available in the French market, distributing more than 80 local and international channels.
