Ziggo launches mobile service
Dutch cable operator Ziggo has launched Ziggo Mobile, its new mobile telephony and data service.
Ziggo Mobile has two Sim-only subscription options for consumers and two for business clients. The cheapest consumer subscription is available from €15 per month. This offers 300 minutes call time/text messages, 1,000 MB data and unlimited access to one million Ziggo Wifi spots for four devices. There is an introductory subscription for business clients from €20 excluding VAT with 400 minutes call time/text messages, 1,000 MB data unlimited access to the Ziggo Wifi spots for four devices.
“With Wifi modems and the introduction of apps such as the Ziggo TV app, we have made our services available everywhere in and around the home,” said Ziggo’s chief commercial officer Marcel Nijhoff. “The next step was to offer access everywhere in our footprint. We did this by activating over one million Ziggo WifiSpots. With the introduction of Ziggo Mobile, we are now entering the next phase; that of mobility.”
Ziggo launched its WiFi spot offering, using the partitioned cable modem WiFi clouds of its subscriber base, in April.
